Psychologists focus on helping people to reach their full potential and lead meaningful lives.
Within the field of psychology, there are many different specialist areas. The three specialist psychology services we provide at the CDN are Clinical Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology and General Psychology.
Clinical Neuropsychology
Clinical Neuropsychologists are Psychologists who have completed further specialist training in the assessment and treatment of issues related to brain development and functioning. Examples include learning disabilities, developmental disorders, neurological and medical conditions.
The Clinical Neuropsychologist at CDN is Dr Lee Hearn.
Clinical or General Psychology
Clinical Psychologists are Psychologists who have completed specialist training in the assessment and treatment of emotional, behavioural and mental health issues, e.g. anxiety, depression, and challenging behaviours.
The Clinical Psychologists at CDN are Matthew Simmond, Kylie Hinde and Lucinda Hinckfuss.
General Psychologists are Psychologists who are working towards their clinical endorsement. They have completed a minimum of six years of university education in psychology. They are registered with AHPRA and are qualified to offer a range of therapy and psychological supports.
The General Psychologists at CDN are Heather McAuliffe and Madeleine Ryals.
Child and Family Psychology
Child and Family Psychologists are generally registered psychologists with additional training and experience in the assessment and treatment of concerns related to developmental health and child and family well-being and functioning.
