This page outlines what you need to do to refer to the clinicians and services at the CDN. All referrals are secured by calling the Administration staff to make your appointment.
Referral to one of our Paediatricians or our Child Psychiatrist* requires a written referral from you General Practitioner if you are to receive the rebate from Medicare. This process also enables a collaboration between the Practitioner and your GP that can provide continuing support to your child.
If you are not eligible for Australian Medicare Benefits, you can attend without a GP referral, however you will be liable for the full cost of the service.
*Please note CDN is currently looking for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist(s) to join our team and consult from CDN. Our clinicians have Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists they regularly refer to at other locations.
Please call to book Neuropsychology assessments, as these do not need specific referrals, and are not usually covered by Medicare.

Psychology services are also covered under some private health insurance policies, however the degree and type of cover varies according to which provider and policy.
