The clinicians working from the CDN prioritise face-to-face consultations as part of a planned structured approach to clinical care. This includes the provision of prescriptions, documents, and other advice.
An appointment will be required for the following:
- documents such as NDIS, travel letters, medication lists, letters for school camp, AARA forms and other documents for education providers
- prescriptions
- mental health care plans
- additional referrals
- pathology or imaging requests
- medical advice.
Please note that the creation or extension of Mental Health Care Plans (MHCP) have strict Medicare requirements.
Whilst your GP or Paediatrician can support you in completing a MHCP in your session, clinicians are not able to extend this past the initial 6 sessions without both a letter from your mental health care provider AND an clinical appointment.
In general, we recommend you consult with your regular GP about your MHCP, and plan appointments in advance to facilitate any extensions required.
