Assistive technology initial consultation:

At the initial consultation Julie will meet the student and parents to identify the academic areas that need assistance, such as: reading, spelling or writing.

Please download and complete this form and bring it with you for your first appointment

Please bring an unedited sample of the student’s independent writing.

The student and parents will be shown examples of Assistive technology that may be helpful to the student, and the student can have a go using the technology.

The student’s touch typing ability will be measured. If enough information is gained in the session, a recommendation of specific Assistive technology required will be given.

Parents can then consider that recommendation and may choose to go ahead with the training package for that software.

For more complex cases, students may need an addition session(s) for Julie to be able to gauge what their needs are and best be able to match the right software for the student.
