Fast-Track Consultations

Our waiting list for new assessment medical appointments is unfortunately long.

The main reason we cannot see children more quickly is because we provide continuing services - if we saw more children we wouldn't have the capacity to provide ongoing care.

In some cases, however, you may just want an assessment opinion only, without ongoing care. To meet this need we will be allocating time for Fast-Track Consultations in 2009.

These consultations will be available within 4 weeks of your initial contact with the CDN, and will:

  • Be an hour long
  • Include an opinion about what is going on with your child, management advice and a brief letter / report
  • Be more expensive than a standard initial consultation

These consultations will not enable you to 'jump the queue' for continuing medical treatment and management services, however we will be able to provide you with advice about what you can do if you want to stay on the waiting list for our regular medical service.
