Mental Health Care Plans for General Practitioners

In November 2006, Medicare began funding for psychological services that manage mental health disorders.

This process can help you pay for psychological services at the CDN.

If you are coming to see one of the psychologists at the CDN, and have not seen one of the Paediatricians at the CDN, you will need your GP to complete a Mental Health Care Plan if you are to be eligible for the Medicare Rebate (which is approximately $100 for a one hour consultation).

Below is some information you can print out and take to your GP to assist them in putting together this plan:

  • Information about Mental Health Care Plan Items
  • List of acceptable mental health disorders
  • Form your GP can complete for a child Mental Health Care Plan
